This collaborative initiative coordinated by Cluster SIVI has the participation of ASPACE Salamanca, Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid, R&D&I Center Stirling, CETEO ORTOPEDIA, Cluster Functional Print and NUFESA.

Together, we have embarked on pioneering research that explores the application of sensorization and artificial intelligence technologies for the detection and evaluation of postural alterations and motor disability.

Within the framework of the project and continuing with the defined activity plan, a few days ago, the Stirling Center visited the ASPACE Salamanca facilities, taking advantage of the opportunity to meet the potential beneficiaries of the development of the Plaisens platform project. In this way, they shared the product specifications and particularities relevant to both.

A Glimpse into the Heart of PLAISENS:

At its core, PLAISENS aspires to create an innovative platform that revolutionizes the way we diagnose, evaluate and follow the progress of patients, especially those in the child and adolescent population, who face motor disabilities and postural alterations. This intelligent platform will be based on the synergy of electronic printing, sensor technologies and artificial intelligence, presenting a pioneering model for the future of social and health care.

Exploring the Frontiers of Research:

In this initial phase, we are immersed in defining the problem and determining the essential requirements to mitigate it. Our focus is on the development of an advanced prototype that will allow accurate detection of body pressure in various postures. These data will not only provide detailed information on postural asymmetries but will also shed light on motor and postural development at different stages of life and in various pathological conditions.

Technological Innovation and Beyond:

PLAISENS dives into cutting-edge technologies, such as capacitive and resistive sensors, integrated using electronic printing techniques. This ingenious approach paves the way for economical and scalable manufacturing of essential healthcare devices. Additionally, we are exploring the implementation of advanced tools, including big data, machine learning and neural networks. These tools will not only help analyze the collected data more deeply, but will also pave the way for the future implementation of artificial intelligence in our approach to care.

A promising future:

As we move forward on this exciting journey during these months until April 2024, our goal is clear: to provide a reliable and objective tool for healthcare professionals. This tool will not only improve the accuracy of diagnosis and the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions but will also support informed and empathetic decision-making that improves the quality of life of our patients.

We are excited by the transformative potential of PLAISENS and will share updates as we reach significant milestones in this project. This journey represents a bold collaboration toward a future where technology and compassion intertwine to create meaningful impact in people’s lives.
