The Digital Health Ecosystem Wales work update – PROMs API

The Digital Health Ecosystem Wales work update – PROMs API
Ecosystems

In April the DHEW team successfully finished work on a proof of concept project to integrate PROMs responses from third party suppliers into the NWIS National PROMs platform. The effective capture of PROMs data would benefit the long-term NHS Strategy – “A healthier Wales” – that includes Value-Based Healthcare.

This data is required to feed the digital dashboards and visualisation tools being developed as part of the Value-based Healthcare (VBHC) programme benefiting researchers as well as NHS Wales. The team collaborated with system suppliers DrDoctor and Patient Knows Best to access test PROMs data available in their systems and worked with NWIS teams to understand current architecture, available information and technical requirements when looking to map those PROMs to the national solution.

A report on the technical proof of concept and recommendations to improve the process is to follow.
