MEDVIA is an industry-driven network that fosters innovations in healthcare. Set up as a public-private partnership with the Flemish government, MEDVIA facilitates and supports collaborations among healthtech companies, research institutions, universities, hospitals and patient advocacy groups. All their members are committed to jointly supporting innovation for better health at the crossroads of medical technology, biotechnology and digital technology. They count more than 150 members and partners from the Flemish healthcare ecosystem.
As one of six spearhead clusters in Flanders supported by VLAIO, they also provide earmarked, non-dilutive funding for innovations in medical technology, biotechnology and digital health. This allows them to build unique consortia to create solutions for unmet medical needs and create new connections and partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders, including patient organizations and caretakers. Their name reflects their guiding principle that, together with our members and partners, they are on an exciting journey towards better healthcare.
MEDVIA supports members active in medical biotechnology, medical technology and digital technology, or at the crossroads of these domains.
Their aim is to strengthen and grow the position of Flanders as one of the top regions in life sciences and health technology worldwide. MEDVIA is focusing to increasing the competitive position in the cross-over domains where tremendous new opportunities are emerging.
MEDVIA wants to be part of the ECHAlliance community in order to create better international networks and be part of a vibrant global community. That way, they can help their own member organizations to find the right access points to international collaboration, business development and R&D partners to create new and innovative healthtech products and services.
