23/90 Evaluating the organisation, delivery and quality of home care services

The Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR) Programme is accepting stage one applications to this funding opportunity.

We invite applications to address key evidence gaps to improve the organisation, delivery and quality of home care services across the UK, including the evaluation of new models of organising and delivering home care services. These Social care services are delivered in people’s own homes by professional carers or domiciliary care services and might include help with activities such as getting out of bed, washing and dressing, using the toilet, preparing meals and remembering to take medicines. In addition, care may be provided for clinical areas such as PEG feeding, catheter management and end-of-life care.

All primary research projects are expected to establish a programme appointed Study Steering Committee and it is important that you read the Research Governance Guidelines before completing your application. Costs incurred by this committee should be included in the budget as appropriate.

Timescales

Any changes to these dates will be emailed to all Lead Applicants with an application in progress.

Stage one deadline: 1pm on 22 November 2023
Notification of out of remit/non-competitive decision if unsuccessful: early January 2024
Notification of stage 1 shortlisting decision: early February 2024
Stage 2 writing window: early February – early April 2024
Notification of stage 2 funding decision: late June 2024
Start date for funded studies: 1 October/November 2024
