23/89 Series 1: Overcoming ethnicity-based inequities in access and experience of health and care services

The Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR) Programme is accepting stage one applications to this funding opportunity. Research applications are invited that focus on improving access, experience, and uptake of services in groups from ethnic minority backgrounds.

This funding opportunity forms the first of a series that addresses the topic of health inequalities experienced by disadvantaged/underserved groups in the UK.

In order to apply for this call you will need to carefully review the following documents:

All primary research projects are expected to establish a programme appointed Study Steering Committee and it is important that you read the Research Governance Guidelines before completing your application. Costs incurred by this committee should be included in the budget as appropriate.

Timescales

Any changes to these dates will be emailed to all Lead Applicants with an application in progress.

Stage one deadline: 1pm on 20 September 2023
Notification of out of remit/non-competitive decision if unsuccessful: late October 2023
Notification of stage 1 shortlisting decision: early December 2023
Stage 2 writing window: early December – early February 2023
Notification of stage 2 funding decision: late April 2024
Start date for funded studies: 1 August/September 2024
