Innovation Project Manager

Robyn Freiheit is a Canadian-Portuguese dual citizen, with international, interdisciplinary experience in project management, marketing and communications strategy.

Robyn holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from the University of British Columbia in Canada and has recently completed her Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Porto. Here, she completed the first-ever, mixed-methods study regarding the influencing factors of food insecurity in the Azores Islands, an EU outermost region in Portugal.

In 2021, she was accepted as a participant in the University of Copenhagen’s “Global Health Case Challenge” competition, focusing on maternal health in overstretched and under-resourced health systems during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2022, her research on food insecurity was selected to be presented at the EU Public Health Conference in Berlin. She is also an active member of the Policies and Health Lab at the University of Porto, Institute of Public Health (ISPUP).

Her public health interests include food insecurity, health policy, health promotion, and the application of social entrepreneurship and/or social change marketing to promote sustainable development. A creative and equally analytical thinker with a ‘can-do’ attitude, Robyn relishes opportunities to combine her diverse interests and experiences to make a positive impact in the world we live in.
