Scotland lead the first ECHAlliance Thematic Innovation Ecosystem on Integrated Care

On Wednesday 26th May the first in the series of Thematic Innovation Ecosystems on Integrated Care took place led by the Scottish Ecosystem and the EU Funded SCIROCCO Exchange project that is developing tools to support the scale-up of integrated care in association with ECHAlliance. 

The session involved speakers from both Lithuania and Scotland and in the session both focussed on the ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been a catalyst for change, impacted the ways we communicate about the need to change and the new ways of delivering services and training in the area of integrated care.  

The event was one of several events taking place during the excellent Digital Health, Housing and Care Learning Network May 2021 led by Scottish Government’s TEC & Digital Healthcare Innovation team. 

This ecosystem featured input from Maimie Thompson, Communications and Engagement Manager, Technology Enabled Care Programme, Scottish Government on Approaches to communicate the need for change to wider public – Learning and experience in Scotland as well as a session targeting the Use of technology to deliver awareness raising and training remotely during COVID-19 pandemic – Learning and experience in Scotland led by Marc Beswick, National Lead – Near Me Network, Technology Enabled Care Programme, Scottish Governmentand  Gail Nash, AHP Practice Education Programme Lead, NHS Education for Scotland. From Lithuania there was input on Communication strategies and healthcare literacy initiatives in Lithuania led by Rokas Navickas from the  Vilnius University Hospital, Lithuania. Lastly there was a discussion between the panelists about what works.
