The Slovenian Innovation Hub (SIH EEIG) is a key player in connecting Slovenia to global value chains by bridging academia, innovation, and business. With a strong focus on implementing the Sustainable Slovenian Smart Specialization Strategy (S5) in Health and Medicine, SIH EEIG also promotes Active Healthy Ageing and the Silver Economy, with the goal of extending healthy years of life for the population. SIH EEIG creates opportunities for organizations to leverage exponential technologies, thereby enhancing Slovenia’s innovation capabilities and international competitiveness. The hub serves as a focal point for creating thematic networks and projects centered around breakthrough technologies, involving a wide range of partners, including startups, SMEs, large enterprises, and leading research institutions. This collaborative approach accelerates the development and implementation of innovative solutions that drive economic growth and provide societal benefits.

They are pleased to announce that dr. Alenka Rožaj Brvar, Director of SIH EEIG, will be a featured speaker at the upcoming 22nd European Week of Regions and Cities. She will be participating in a session titled “Interregional Investments in Innovation to Boost Citizen Health and Well-being.” This event will provide a platform to discuss the significant strides made in health and medicine, particularly through the strategic collaborations facilitated by SIH EEIG.  All stakeholders are invited to join us and explore opportunities for further collaboration.

SIH EEIG is an active partner in the HealthChain project, co-funded by the European Commission, which aims to revolutionize healthcare delivery through the use of advanced information technologies. HealthChain is designed to enhance the quality of healthcare and improve patient satisfaction by integrating secure, advanced digital solutions into healthcare systems. Slovenian partners, led by SIH EEIG, are focusing on the development of an innovative platform that ensures the secure and transparent management of healthcare data. This platform not only enhances data security but also enables more efficient and personalized healthcare services. Read more about this solution here.

In addition to HealthChain, SIH EEIG is actively involved in the Senior Eco-Nect project, which aims to support the well-being of the elderly through the creation of sustainable innovation ecosystems. The project, which recently concluded with a summit in Brussels, has made significant progress in fostering cross-sector collaborations that address the challenges faced by the ageing population. SIH EEIG’s contributions to this project have been pivotal, particularly in developing solutions that promote active ageing and improve the quality of life for seniors.

Through its involvement in these and other initiatives, like Medic Nest Meta Cluster in Precision Medicine, SIH EEIG continues to demonstrate its commitment to driving innovation in health and medicine. We look forward to furthering these efforts in collaboration with our partners and stakeholders across Europe.
