As a leading Portuguese non-profit organization dedicated to fostering innovation and technology transfer, Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) bridges the gap between the scientific realm and the industrial sector. With a cutting-edge technological infrastructure, including six RTD laboratories, they are at the forefront of innovation.

The Automatics and Systems Lab (LAS) specializes in the development of Edge AI, IoT, and Robotics for the healthcare sector, as well as supporting the medical device testing, validation and certification processes for the EU/BR/US/UK.

With over 10 years of experience and expertise in the healthcare sector, they have participated in more than 35 EU funding projects. As a significant stakeholder in the Health 4.0 field, their focus lies in developing solutions from detection to rehabilitation, with particular emphasis on telerehabilitation, telemedicine, and digital pharma.

ANIA, one of their technological assets, integrates the functionalities of an artificial interactive agent and a smart modular device with built-in sensors. This technology is positioned to advance the digital therapeutics field, providing a robust foundation for innovation across various healthcare domains, including diagnosis, digital pharma, and telerehabilitation services and solutions.

Their interest in joining the ECHAlliance community is to enhance engagement by establishing additional connections worldwide and identifying collaborative opportunities for developing innovative solutions and services through the utilization of their technological assets.

In addition to sharing LAS’s technological assets with you and co-developing new solutions, they are interested in supporting the certification process for medical devices and in vitro diagnostics (IVDs), as well as facilitating the entry of medical devices into the European market
