Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India – Ranked 3rd in the country, has four linked public hospitals; Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences and Guru Nanak Eye Centre. The institutes together are Centers for Healthcare Excellence by Govt of National Capital Territory of Delhi. The institute caters to medical education and training of 290 Undergraduate students, 245 Post graduate and Postdoctoral students every year and boasts a strength of 810 resident doctors and 426 faculty members. Along with catering to almost 8000 patients daily, the institute also runs 4 outreach clinics and manages district hospital in rural area of Delhi.
The institute is an excellent place for learning and delivering preventive, promotive and curative care. With a strength of 2800 beds, 7200 daily outpatient attendance and 47 operation theatres, it is an excellent place for research and innovation, both within the institute and multicentric as well. The concept of integrative medicine is also focused on in form of “AYUSH” care – Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani & Siddha systems of medicine are also practiced and researched. Faculty in the college across various disciplines play an advisory role in evidence based practice of medicine and public health. The esteemed faculty across various departments also run specialized clinics, conduct multifaceted research and are also involved in decision making at policy level.
Digital health is a new arena for us. National Digital Health Mission launched in India in 2020 aims for digital transformation of healthcare delivery system of country. Many enthusiastic graduates and postgraduates want to contribute in the field of digital health. We look for mentoring support and collaborative research assignments that will help the faculty and students of the organization grow in the field of DIGITAL HEALTH.
