ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment is the Catalan Government’s agency for business competitiveness, contributing to the transformation of Catalan companies. It has a network of 40 offices worldwide and collaborates with public and private institutions. Our agency is also devoted to assisting international firms to invest in Barcelona – Catalonia, promoting Barcelona-Catalonia as an attractive, innovative, and competitive business location.
Catalonia has a vibrant life sciences network, with 91 research institutions and over 1,350 companies (including 53% of the largest global pharma, such as Boehringer Ingelheim, AstraZeneca, Sanofi, Novartis, or Roche). Life sciences represents 4.4% of Catalonia’s GDP. Numerous health areas are present in our region, such as pharma, biotech, medical equipment, mental health and digital health.
Our agency wishes to connect with health ecosystems of other regions and countries to learn about disruptions and face global challenges for a sustainable, digital, efficient and patient-centered transition. In addition, we aim to boost the Catalan health sector by disseminating its achievements, initiatives, activities and possibilities for cooperation.
