Healthcare UK – a joint initiative of the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and the Department for International Trade (DIT) – helps UK healthcare providers to do more business overseas. It does this by promoting the UK healthcare sector to overseas markets and supporting healthcare partnerships between the UK and overseas healthcare providers.

Its sector specialists provide subject matter expertise and produce ‘offers’ for key areas of UK strengths to be promoted by DIT Commercial Officers across a global network of over 100 UK Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates.

The list of the Top 100 UK Digital Health & Care firms for Export 2020 has been produced by Hassan Chaudhury, the Digital Health Specialist based at Whitehall, London alongside  the European Connected Health Alliance – the Global Connector for Digital Health.  It aims to celebrate firms who have already had success in the UK (particularly for the NHS), are  keen to export and support health systems internationally, have a productive partnership with Healthcare UK and commit to showcase the best of the UK’s DNA and successes in health and care to the world.

The list will be updated and refreshed periodically and firms wishing to be considered should ensure they make contact with the Digital Health Specialist at Healthcare UK. Specific effort and consideration for diversity of all forms is a feature of the list for example in gender, race, ethnicity and with representation regionally across the UK and will continue to be so.

Chair Brian O’Connor from ECHAlliance said “As the Global Connector for Digital Health we welcome this innovative approach from the Department for International Trade to put the best the UK has to offer out to a Global market and we are proud to provide access to our International Network of Ecosystems and our members”

Hassan Chaudry ,the Digital Health Specialist said “With the help of the ECHAlliance we have created this list to support the Top 100 in their export efforts.

We have also had the help of  DIT specialists and experts; Madhukar ‘Maddy’ Bose, Dr Mike Short CBE, Dr Zahid Latif, Dr Linda Magee OBE, Neil Ebeneezer, Chris Born, Jon Mowles, Dr Johann Malawana and Andrew Whelan and the Sector experts including Rachel Dunscombe (NHS Digital Academy/KLAS), Dr Sam Shah (digital health adviser), Nicola Haywood-Alexander (TECH4CV19), Andrew Davis (ABHI), Dr Pramod Prabhakaran (Vita Healthcare/Imperial College Health Partners), Rachel Murphy (Difrent), Ben Moody (techUK), Dr Junaid Bajwa (Merck)  and Dr Tom Denwood (NHS Digital).

We are also grateful to the European Connected Health Alliance  for their insight and support on this and connecting us with their Members,Ecosystems and their Global Connector Partnership.

I am keen to populate the Top 100 and accelerate the process of connecting the Top 100 to our Embassies,High Commissions and Consulates around the world “
