Connecting the Dots: ECHAlliance Hosts session on Digital Health Collaboration at Africa-Europe Science Collaboration and Innovation Forum

Events

ECHAlliance – The Global Health Connector, a global not-for profit organisation fostering collaboration in healthcare innovation, is inviting stakeholders to its session, “Connecting the Dots: Enabling Africa-Europe Collaboration in Digital Health,” taking place during the  Africa-Europe Science Collaboration and Innovation Forum on Wednesday, 24 April 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM CET. The session will be held in a hybrid format, both in-person at the South-African Embassy in Brussels (Rue Montoyer 19, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium) and online. Karolina Mackiewicz, Innovation Director at ECHAlliance will co-chair the session.

Building Bridges for Better Health

The session underscores the critical role of collaboration between Africa and Europe in addressing global healthcare challenges. By pooling resources and expertise, the new and existing partnership can drive innovation, improve healthcare access, and ultimately enhance well-being across both continents, aligning with the core principles of the AU-EU Innovation Strategy.

Showcasing Success and Fostering New Partnerships

This discussion-oriented session will showcase ongoing initiatives and success stories in digital health collaboration between scientific institutions, civil society organisations, and businesses. It will also serve as a platform to identify key challenges and opportunities for further collaboration and help develop actionable strategies for strengthening partnerships.

ECHAlliance fosters cooperation with Africa

ECHAlliance has fostered cooperation with Africa since the establishment of the Global Health Connector Partnership in 2020. As ECHAlliance’s Chair, Brian O’Connor says: “Collaboration is essential for progress. As we bring together Africa and Europe in digital health, aiming for better health outcomes, our commitment remains strong. Through platforms like the Voice of Africa in our ECHAlliance monthly newsletter, reaching over 20,000 readers worldwide, we continue to foster important discussions. In our upcoming session at the Africa-Europe Science Collaboration and Innovation Forum, we will highlight ongoing initiatives and successes in digital health collaboration. Join us as we innovate and collaborate together.”
