PULSE working on key challenges related to data integration to improve population health and social services in cities.

José A. Pagán, Director of the Center for Health Innovation at The New York Academy of Medicine and Professor in the College of Global Public Health at New York University, participated in a panel discussion entitled Breaking Down Data Silos for Holistic Health at the October 17, 2018 ECHAlliance Workshop in Boston.

This workshop was part of the 2018 Connected Health Conference at the Boston’s Seaport World Trade Center. The conference brought together over 3,000 healthcare providers, researchers, leaders and tech innovators. The ECHAlliance Workshop focused on creating relationships, debates and cooperation between stakeholders in Europe, the USA and Canada. Dr. Pagán presented an overview of the Horizon 2020’s PULSE Project funded by the European Commission and discussed some of the key challenges related to data integration to improve population health and social services in cities. The panel was moderated by Alex Szucs, President of the Canada Integrated Health Alliance, and other panelists included Laurie Hawkins (Advocate for Health/Human Services Directories and E-Resident of Estonia), Jaakko Lähteenmäki (Principal Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland), and Arnaub Chatterjee (Senior Expert/Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company).
