The Expert Forum, organized by HelseCampus Stavanger, is placing a significant emphasis on safety and sensing in the healthcare sector. The forum brings together various stakeholders, including hospitals, municipalities, and companies like the Norwegian Smart Care Lab and Haltian, to explore the potential of innovation and collaboration in the field of sensor technology. With a focus on testing and driving innovation, the forum aims to create user-friendly solutions and address the challenges faced by the healthcare industry. The discussions also highlight the importance of public-private collaboration and knowledge sharing to enhance safety measures and create a secure environment for healthcare providers and patients.

Partnerships: Marit Hagland talks about testing opportunities in the region. The Expert Forum focuses on safety and sensing HelseCampus Stavanger is establishing a network that, through four gatherings, focuses on safety and sensing. Marit Hagland from the Norwegian Smart Care Lab and Gunnar Hansen from Haltian are among those who have engaged in getting the network up and running.
“It’s exciting to work together in this way, with the hospital, the municipality, and us in the cluster. We get to see what’s happening in the field of sensing, what’s missing, and how we can innovate on what already exists,” says Marit Hagland, leader of the Norwegian Smart Care Lab.
The cluster’s member companies have a lot to contribute “We, as a cluster, are eager to participate because we believe our companies have a lot to contribute. At the same time, we believe that innovation and testing new solutions early in the development process are necessary to achieve user-friendly solutions. We have great opportunities for that at the Norwegian Smart Care Lab and the unique offering we have at HelseCampus,” Marit continues.
Haltian is one of the member companies in the cluster. They provide solutions in sensing that can improve logistics and free up resources in the healthcare sector. Gunnar from Haltian has been involved in the forum’s committee.
“Sensing is a hot topic these days, and there has been a need for knowledge in this area. So, I think it’s great that HelseCampus is able to involve different stakeholders and fill an information gap,” he says.
Gunnar Hansen from Haltian has engaged in getting the network up and running. Participants come from afar Lars Ellingsberg from DNV has traveled from the Eastern part of Norway to participate in the gatherings and shares that it is interesting to be part of a forum with such a diverse assembly.
“I think the Norwegian Smart Care Cluster and HelseCampus have done a great job of engaging different types of actors. Especially the strong clinical participation is noteworthy. It’s always interesting to involve people other than IT professionals in such discussions,” says Lars.
DNV, among other things, deals with information flow solutions and is concerned with handling data securely and with the right quality. One of the reasons why DNV wants to engage in the forum is to connect with others who are engaged in the same field.
“It provides an opportunity to get to know people and learn about the challenges facing the healthcare sector,” says Lars.
Furthermore, he mentions that it’s interesting to participate in the processes where thoughts, ideas, and opportunities are brought up in the forum.
“Discovering trends and understanding those working in the healthcare sector is very important. I feel that the forum encourages public-private collaboration. Such a collaboration can often turn into a customer relationship, whereas this forum is experienced as a collaborative forum rather than a supplier-customer relationship,” explains Lars.
Testing and innovation Implementation is among the topics on the agenda. Marit Hagland explains that the Norwegian Smart Care Cluster is eager to participate because many of the member companies have a lot to contribute, and it’s also necessary to test and innovate.
“We have, among other things, focused on how we can innovate together. I hope we can achieve larger projects together and create an ecosystem of multiple solutions that work together,” says Marit Hagland.
