Objectively, remotely monitoring Parkinson’s disease patients made it easy for hospitals, physicians, researchers, medical device and pharma companies. 15 years of research have led to the launch of a CE marked, class IIa, medical device, PDMonitor, already marketed in Europe and soon in the United States.

PDMonitor, PD Neurotechnology Ltd’s first groundbreaking product, is a Class IIa medical device according to Directive 93/42/EEC. It is an ecosystem for monitoring Parkinson’s Patient symptoms. It consists of 5 lightweight monitoring devices (MDs) that patients wear on different body parts. The PDMonitor SmartBox and Cloud incorporate state of the art machine learning algorithms to detect the main PD motor symptoms and their intensity. Based on those symptoms and complementary information from the PDMonitor Patient Mobile app on lifestyle and drug adherence, the treating physician can use the PDMonitor Physician Tool, available as a web and smartphone app,to have a comprehensive view of PD related symptoms and modify therapy accordingly.

The caregiver’s pivotal role is also seamlessly accounted for in the overall design of the system.
