Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) continues to pose a serious threat to global health, driven largely by the overuse and misuse of antibiotics.
In response, the AMR EDUCare training platform—funded by the EU4Health Programme—offers free, high-quality online training to healthcare professionals across Europe.
Designed with a One Health approach, the platform equips doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare managers with essential knowledge and skills to combat AMR in their daily practice.
With training available in English and more languages to follow, AMR EDUCare supports antimicrobial stewardship by promoting responsible prescribing, sustainable waste management, and effective patient communication.
The platform features three core training modules: optimising antimicrobial prescribing, reducing and managing antimicrobial waste, and empowering patients through communication.
Experts behind the project stress the urgency of behavioural change and ongoing education to keep pace with the growing body of knowledge on antibiotics and infections.
With a goal of training over 4,000 professionals by late 2025, AMR EDUCare aims to reduce overprescription, improve stewardship practices, and strengthen public health across six EU countries.
Ultimately, this initiative serves as a key step toward a more informed, coordinated, and sustainable fight against AMR in Europe.
