Andy Bleaden, ECHAlliance Director for Ecosystems and Membership will be speaking at the Healthy Ageing Innovation Cluster in Edinburgh on the 4th March about opportunities across the wider ECHAlliance International Network of Digital Health Ecosystems
The 4th of March see’s the Healthy Ageing Innovation Cluster’s return to the Surgeon’s Quarter in Edinburgh for our first meeting of 2020.
We are delighted to be joined by Professor Judith Phillips who has recently been appointed by UKRI as Research Director for the Healthy Ageing Challenge. Prof. Phillips will be responsible for research across the healthy ageing activity portfolio and will spearhead a £10.5m social, behavioural and design research programme to develop insights and evidence on key challenges facing the older population and ways that support can be delivered effectively.
A facilitated workshop session will be held in the afternoon to co-design a collaborative Care Giving challenge proposal for the Can Do Innovation Challenge Fund.
Care Giving Challenge – “Care for older adults is provided by informal (unpaid) and formal (paid) caregivers, both of which increasingly care for people with higher levels of acuity and complex conditions. Family caregivers— who are often juggling other family and work responsibilities while living remotely from the care recipient—need better support, training, resources and tools to support their loved ones and themselves. On the professional side, staff shortages and quality concerns require new solutions to help attract, train, develop and leverage scarce human capital.”
Please come along to share your insights and help shape the challenge proposal.
There will, of course, be lots of opportunities to network and find out about additional funding and collaboration opportunities, and space is available should you wish to meet up and chat over potential opportunities with those in the room (and of course, there will be lunch!).
