Unlocking Solutions for Global Health Challenges: The ECHAlliance Global Health Connector Event at Science Summit @ UNGA78
Event, Global Health Connector Partnership

We are delighted to announce that ECHAlliance will host a two-day ‘Global Health Connector’ event during the upcoming 9th edition of the Science Summit at UNGA78. The Summit will take place at the CURE, New York and virtually, on 26th-27th September. This internationally important event is a global platform that brings together leaders, scientists, technologists, industry, policymakers, and innovators to promote the role of science in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a better shared future and to prepare the UN Summit of the Future 2024.

At the UNGA78 Science Summit, organised by ISC Intelligence in Science in conjunction with ECHAlliance and partners, the Global Health Connector will convene two days of engaging discussions, featuring keynote speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. We are proud to gather key leaders from Europe, Africa, India, Latin America, and the United States to tackle urgent global health challenges.

The Global Health Connector sessions at the Science Summit will focus on three key topics of critical importance:

  • Healthy Ageing: a worldwide issue that needs worldwide thinking and collaboration.
  • Data & Digital: enabling science to support healthcare globally.
  • Green Health: connecting the dots to tackle climate change, challenge healthcare systems to be sustainable and improve health for all.

The expected outcomes of the Summit Session and associated meetings will include the following:

  • Supporting the implementation of the United Nations SDG3: Good Health and Wellbeing: Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being at all ages is essential to sustainable development. Currently, the world is facing a global health crisis unlike any other — COVID-19 is spreading human suffering, destabilising the global economy and upending the lives of billions of people around the globe;
  • Encourage collaborations between developed and less developed nations and their stakeholders in the area of digital health and green health;
  • Provide evidence to UN and other policymakers on what works and what doesn’t in the area of digital health;
  • Provide input to the United Nations Global Digital Compact in the area of digital health, thereby ensuring equity of access and the inclusion of developing nations in setting the global digital agenda when the GDC is adopted by the United Nations in September 2024;
  • Ensure that emerging regulations in the area of data privacy and artificial intelligence are based on best practice and inclusion, with particular reference to women and girls;
  • A constructive contribution to the Summit of the Future in 2024.

As part of the UNGA78 Science Summit, we invite you to join us and contribute to this crucial dialogue. If you want to showcase your organisation, you have a great opportunity to become a partner. Partnering with us will amplify your organisation’s visibility, strengthen networks, and foster collaboration with like-minded stakeholders.

“The Global Health Connector is delighted to convene these important sessions at UNGA 2023.
We, as many do, support the United Nations in their goals but saying is not the same as actually doing.
Through the ECHAlliance global network we will implement the outcomes of these discussions in collaboration with our many partners around the world.
Time to do.“
Brian O’Connor, Chair of ECHAlliance, The Global Health Connector
