Who are our Members?

Who are our Members?

Our ECHAlliance membership base is incredibly rich and diverse! Today, we want to highlight the different groups that make up our vibrant community.

ECHAlliance

Our members include companies, health & social care providers, patient groups, education & research institutions, government agencies, clusters, networks & associations, and more! This diversity is what drives innovation in health and care across the globe.

Here’s a closer look at the composition of our membership:

  • Education & Research:

We have over 350 members that are at forefront of advancing healthcare knowledge and innovation. Examples include the University of Edinburgh, a world-leading institution globally recognized for its teaching, research, and innovation, and Kingston University London, a modern, diverse, and supportive university spread across four campuses.

  • Networks & Associations:

We have a community of over 250 networks and organisations that play a crucial role in connecting professionals and fostering collaboration within the healthcare ecosystem. One prominent example is the American Heart Association, a nationwide voluntary health organisation comprising more than 35 million volunteers and supporters dedicated to improving heart health and reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

  • Health & Social Care Providers:

Our members in this category are essential in delivering health and social care services in both public and private healthcare and includes 120 hospitals. For instance, FundeSalud, a public foundation under the Regional Ministry of Health and Social Services of the Government of Extremadura, manages research and education programs within the Regional Healthcare (SES) and Dependency/Sociosanitary System (SEPAD).

  • Government Agencies:

These members are instrumental in shaping policies and initiatives that improve healthcare systems. AQuAS, the Agency for Health Quality and Assessment of Catalonia, is a key example. As part of the Catalan Ministry of Health, AQuAS assesses data and generates reliable information for decision-making processes, promoting health and enhancing the sustainability of the Catalan health system as well as running our ecosystem in Catalonia.

  • Patient Groups:

We have nearly 100 Patient groups that are vital in advocating for the needs of patients and their caregivers. An example is The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, the leading dementia-specific service provider in Ireland, working at the heart of local communities to provide services and advocate for the rights and needs of people living with dementia and their carers.

  • Industry:

Industry members contribute with their expertise in management consulting and technological solutions. Examples include McKinsey & Co, a global management consulting firm, and IQVIA, a leading provider of advanced analytics, technology solutions, and clinical research services to the life sciences industry.

  • Clusters:

These members foster innovation by facilitating collaborations among various stakeholders in healthcare. For instance, Medvia, a Flanders-based healthtech cluster, supports and drives healthcare innovations by bringing together companies, research centres, universities, and healthcare institutions who also run our Flemish Ecosystem in Belgium.

Our diverse and dynamic membership base is what makes ECHAlliance a unique and powerful force in driving change and innovation in the health and care sectors. By bringing together stakeholders from across the spectrum, we create a collaborative environment where ideas are shared, partnerships are formed, and groundbreaking solutions are developed.
