My Data Our Health is a global initiative aimed at raising public awareness and influencing politicians to take action on health data governance. We invite you to participate by contacting your health provider (either online or by visiting them in person) to request your electronic health data (e.g., health records).
The digital transformation of health systems is generating vast amounts of data about us. Our health data contains intimate information about our medical histories, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Yet, we often don’t know where it goes, who is using it, and how. Effectively used, our health data can save lives. It can advance health-related research and make our health systems more efficient, effective and affordable. It is important that health researchers and planners have access to our data. However, this access needs to come with certain conditions and guarantees. It is essential that laws and regulations are in place to ensure we maintain control and ownership over that data and to protect our individual rights and privacy.
Join the campaign – Where’s My Data?
Go to your usual health centre and ask for your electronic health records.
After your visit, tell us about your experience through our survey.
If you want to tell us more, send us a video of your experience and use it online. You can upload the video to the survey.
What you’ll need:
1. Proof of identity: Bring identification to verify your request.
2. USB stick: If necessary, bring a USB stick to copy any data provided to you electronically.
Once you’ve requested your data, we’d love to hear about your experience. Please fill out our survey using the link below:
