We4AHA at the Knowledge Exchange Platform Peer-to-Peer Event: “Active ageing as a tool for social innovation”
Horizon 2020
Projects

23rd – 24th January 2020, Trieste (Italy)

This week, ECHAlliance will be at the conference “Active ageing as a tool for social innovation”, promoted by the Regional Assembly of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region as part of the initiatives of the “Knowledge exchange platform” (KEP).

The KEP is the result of the cooperation between the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Commission’s DG for Research and Innovation (DG RTD). Its main objective is to present and share new R&I solutions, innovative products and best practices in response to the social challenges that European regions and cities are facingtoday. KEP actions are implemented in the thematic research and innovation areas of Industry 4.0 and Social Innovation through Thematic Seminars (TS), Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Events and Showcasing Events (SE).

Specifically, this P2P Event is the result of a debate that began last year within the frame of the European Week of Regions and Cities in the domain of the Social Innovation thematic area. Through the KEP, the European Commission and the Committee of the Regions aim to disseminate information at a local level in order to receive guidance for the implementation of future policies. This platform, based on exchanges of experience, is intended to be a tool for listening to local/regional stakeholders and policy makers. It is based on the principle of co-creation and “listen and use your inputs”.

On Thursday 23rd January 2020, Jose Usero (We4AHA Coordinator, Funka) and Valentina Tageo (ECHAlliance International Projects Director and We4AHA Work Package Leader) will speak at the panel session titled ‘Setting the EU framework on Active and Healthy Ageing’.

In particular, ECHAlliance, as leader of theEuropean Innovation Partnership on Active and Health Ageing (EIP on AHA)Innovation to Market (I2M) initiative, will discuss about the ongoing activities and services promoted by I2M and aimed at fostering the match between demand and supply in the AHA market, a realm where truly effective stakeholder engagement and citizen empowerment are crucial to secure acceptance and sustainability of innovative solutions. Furthermore, Valentina will present the activities undertaken by ECHAlliance in other relevant EU projects such as DigitalHealthEuropeEDEN and ValueCare with a specific focus on their contribution to stimulate health and social innovation.
