We are very excited to welcome our very first ecosystem from Switzerland: DayOne Basel Ecosystem. Read this interview with Ursula Costa, Director Healthcare Innovation at DayOne.
Who are the key stakeholders?
We work with startups, pharma/medtech companies, public authorities (kantonal), research institutions, healthcare providers, healthcare insurance companies, and service providers who act together as enablers for innovation.
What are the main objectives of your ecosystem?
Our main goal is to support healthtech innovation. We help startups grow by connecting them to all relevant actors in the healthcare innovation ecosystem (academia, patients and providers) as well as we help pharma and medtech companies solve their business challenges by providing them access to curated startups.
Why did you join the ECHAlliance Network of Ecosystems?
It would be great to learn and exchange experiences with other ecosystems. We would also like to showcase what we do to startups and pharma/medtech companies from outside of Basel so they know how can we support them in their innovation efforts.
Who is missing from your ecosystem in terms of stakeholders?
We have all actors already involved in our ecosystem, but we would benefit from stronger involvement from policy makers and regulators in order to enable innovation faster.
Which ecosystems are you looking to collaborate with?
We are looking to collaborate with ecosystems with a focus on life science, digital health and data as a first steps, but we see potential to collaborate with many more as our programs and events are often across multiple areas of interest.
