In the framework of the current Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, we are very excited to welcome our Aragón Health Ecosystem from Spain. Read this interview with Carlos Lapuerta, Managing Director at Arahealth.
Who are the key stakeholders?
Our key stakeholders are the Aragón Health Cluster (Arahealth) and the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Aragón (IIS Aragón).
What are the main objectives of your ecosystem?
The main objective of Arahealth is to promote excellence in the business performance of the sector as well as in basic, applied, clinical and health services research in the Spanish region of Aragón.
Why did you join the ECHAlliance Network of Ecosystems?
Arahealth is the benchmark in Aragón for any health business initiative that comes from the region itself or from other Spanish regions. Among its purposes, the establishment of relationships with other relevant national and international agents is included. Our national position is strengthened with the integration into the Alliance of Spanish Health and Biosciences Clusters (ACESABIO).
Public clinical research is coordinated at the IIS Aragón and one of its purposes is to position the institute’s activity internationally, increasing scientific alliances. From this starting point, the objective of being part of ECHAlliance is to connect with other ecosystems compatible with ours to establish alliances that reinforce our commercial, innovation management or health research activities.
Who is missing from your ecosystem in terms of stakeholders?
I would say that we are mainly missing investors, but at the same time, I am not entirely sure that they should be integrated in our ecosystem.
Which ecosystems are you looking to collaborate with?
We would be particularly interested in collaborating with ecosystems that are similar to ours in terms of size.
