We are very excited to welcome our first ecosystem from Montenegro to our network: the Digital Den Innovation Ecosystem based in Podgorica and led by Digital Den.To find out more about their work, read this interview with Aleksandar Dimitrijevic, CEO at Digital Den.
Who are the key stakeholders?
Our key stakeholders are:
- Faculty of Medicine
- Ministry of Health
- Institute of Public Health
- Med/Tech Startups
- Glosarij (the first private wholesale pharmaceutical company in Montenegro)
What are the main objectives of your ecosystem?
The primary objective of our ecosystem is to bring together key stakeholders within Montenegro’s health sector—including healthcare providers, policymakers, researchers, innovators, and prospective startups. By fostering collaboration and facilitating knowledge exchange, we aim to build a dynamic and interconnected ecosystem that drives innovation and advances healthcare solutions across the country.
Furthermore, our mission is to position Montenegro on the ECHAlliance Global Health Map, highlighting the nation’s potential and contributions to the global health and innovation landscape.
Who is missing from your ecosystem in terms of stakeholders?
We have yet to establish collaboration and expand partnerships with the Faculty of Medicine, the Ministry of Health, and the Institute of Public Health in Montenegro.
Why do you want to join the ECHAlliance Network of Ecosystems?
Our primary goal in joining the ECHAlliance Network of Ecosystems is to position Montenegro on the ECHAlliance Global Health Map, showcasing the country’s potential in health innovation and entrepreneurship. We also aim to establish Digital Den as the leading hub for health-tech and med-tech business initiatives, acting as a bridge between emerging startups from Montenegro and the Balkans and the global health ecosystem.
Through this membership, we strive to foster cross-border collaboration, attract international partnerships, and create opportunities for regional med-tech startups to scale and thrive on a global stage.
Which ecosystems are you looking to collaborate with?
Our current focus is on collaborating with ecosystems in the EU and the United States, where we have already established strong and stable partnerships. However, we remain open to exploring opportunities with other regions or continents, as long as there is a clear alignment of business interests and objectives.
This approach enables us to strengthen our existing networks while staying flexible to engage with ecosystems that share our vision for innovation and growth in the health-tech sector.
