The Valencia Health Ecosystem & the FOCUS EU Project came together to explore “Healthy Ageing in Europe: Where we are and the way ahead”
Friday 13th April 2018 offered a very exciting and packed agenda, at the historical building of the Rector’s Office of the University of Valencia.
Antonio Cano MD, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Pediatrics, University of Valencia facilitated this joint gathering, as he is both the coordinator of the VLC-Health Ecosystem and also the FOCUS project.
The FOCUS project partners attended from Poland, Portugal, England, Holland, Italy and Spain to present their contributions and intensively debated about different areas the project.
Many attendees from Valencia joined the Ecosystem Gathering, as did visitors from Northern Ireland and France. Noora Jansson, from the OuluHealth Ecosystem (Finland) joined over the net and provided a very interesting update on the success of their ecosystem. Arnaud Senn, DGCONNECT, European Commission, shared his thoughts on a range of related topics by video.
The fast moving agenda offered 30+ speakers including patients/older people representatives, health professionals, ministries of health, policy makers, academia, companies and others. The wide range of high level topics included THE DIGITAL SINGLE MARKET, ECHALLIANCE ECOSYSTEM NETWORK, EIP-AHA REFERENCE SITES and IMPACT OF EUROPEAN PROJECTS.
The Valencia Health Ecosystem showcased a number of local companies namely Brainstorm, Idieikon, HOPES Ecosystem and MySphera; whileZoe Valero, from the ITACA Institute (Polytechnic University of Valencia) presented the steps given to building a multi-functional platform for mental health within VLCHealth.
