On November 4, the Estonian Connected Health Cluster led by Tehnopol Science and Business Park received the Entrepreneurship Promotion Award from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication of Estonia.
The award was handed to Merilin Varsamaa, the new Head of HealthTech at Tehnopol, at the Best Estonian Companies 2023 gala by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Information Technology, Tiit Riisalo.
Tehnopol HealthTech Community (formerly known as the Estonian Connected Health Cluster) has 43 members – various technology companies, start-ups, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, IT companies, organizations, patient unions, etc. This award is yet another testament of the quality work that has been done by the whole team. Although the Connected Health Cluster project has ended by now, all Tehnopol’s activities in the health technology field continue and the community keeps of growing.
Another seal of approval was the fact that Tehnopol HealthTech Community member Icosagen Cell Factory received the Business of the Year award during that same ceremony. We at Tehnopol firmly believe that Icosagen will one day be not only the best company in Europe, but in the whole world, just as the founder and CEO, Mart Ustav, said in his acceptance speech.
Icosagen is one of the most knowledge-intensive companies in Estonia, which creates very high added value in economic terms. Icosagen Cell Factory has, among other things, developed Bioblock, a nasal spray containing anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies.
Next, Merilin Varsamaa will represent Tehnopol HealthTech Community at Bilbao where the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) 2023 takes place on November 13-15.
