Silverfit Project Working Meeting at ECCMAX premises

The Silverfit project, led by the Asociación Cluster Del Sector Del Habitat, Madera, Oficina y Contract (HABIC), has as its main objective to research and develop a service oriented to the promotion of universal active ageing. In collaboration with SIVI Cluster, Sumando Vida, UP INTELLIGENCE S.L., and the company DHEMEN DESIGN SL, the project aims to create a machine to exercise muscle strength, with a special focus on people with dependence, mobility problems or people who suffered a stroke.

Members of the Silverfit project consortium met at the ECCMAX premises to review the progress and key objectives of this innovative industrial research project.

During the meeting, several important points were highlighted:

  • Visit to ECCMAX: Participants had the opportunity to visit the ECCMAX facilities, where the company’s philosophy and working method was explained. The link between ECCMAX and Dhemen as key promoters of the project was highlighted. The possibility of transferring the ECCMAX working method to the users’ own homes or premises was discussed. The aim is to integrate a large part of the functionalities, allowing possible remote exercise and maintenance routines.
  • Comprehensive Software Approach: It is identified as a significant challenge to incorporate software into the machine with the aim of accurately tracking and analysing users’ individual performance and progress. In doing so, SILVERFIT will not only provide a personalised approach to physical exercise but will also allow health professionals and caregivers to closely monitor the evolution of each user. This holistic approach will ensure that the device not only fulfils its primary purpose of improving muscle strength and functionality, but also comprehensively supports the health and wellbeing of those who use it. Up Intelligence and Dhemen are working on defining the technology to be included.
  • Project Phases: The two phases of the project were detailed. Phase 2023-24, already approved and funded, focuses on developing a working prototype of the machine and defining the working method and associated service. Phase 2024-25, subject to success and funding, will consist of testing the product in a real environment with real users. During this phase, key aspects such as the method, application and associated service will be corrected and defined.

In summary, the meeting was fundamental to align strategies and define next steps towards the success of the Silverfit project, which aims to contribute significantly to the promotion of people’s autonomy through the combination of physical tools and software supported by Artificial Intelligence.

Context of the Silverfit project:
