SEED project drives development of the Silver Economy Awards

ECHAlliance joined the SEED project consortium partners at a kick-off meeting in Bonn, Germany on 4 November, 2016.

The EU-funded project is the driving force behind the development of the Silver Economy Awards, the first European-level award scheme rewarding innovative solutions that support the growth of the European silver economy. It aims to help local and regional authorities to deliver better services for their ageing population, improve the quality of life of older people in Europe and highlight economic opportunities connected with adequately responding to ongoing demographic developments.

Aimed at all those responding to the opportunities of our aging populations with game-changing solutions, the Silver Economy Awards will be open to submissions from organisations, companies and research institutions. From healthcare and active aging to lifestyle finance, transport and employment, solutions will be welcomed from the broad spectrum of areas that make up the silver economy.

Categories for the competition will be established over the coming months and submission will be open in summer 2017. The first Silver Economy Awards ceremony will take place spring 2018, and ECHAlliance will keep you updated on developments.
