The launch event of the ecosystem coordinated by ISRAA in collaboration with the international network coordinated by ECHAlliance took place on 12 November. The ecosystem aims to address some relevant sectoral challenges by bringing together knowledge from academia, experience and possibilities from the corporate world as well as those directly brought by social and health services.
The central theme was the digital transformation in the care of the elderly, explored in depth by a panel of international speakers who presented the main solutions currently available through the use of mobile devices, robots and the connection between these and IoT devices and various forms of artificial intelligence. The central elements that emerged on which to focus collective efforts so that these solutions are really adopted are:
• Gains in terms of quality of life and collective cost savings are possible if large volumes of citizens are involved
• Robotics today can take a proactive role in cognitive, emotional and motor stimulation
• Public health and social services need a cultural change to change organisational models
• Digital skills remain critical for both citizens and professionals
The webinar was attended by 60 experts in the field, half of whom came from different European countries. The next webinar, dedicated to the topic of social housing, will take place on 4 February 2021 from 12:00 to 14:00.
