Red Dot Design Award for product that redefines urinary collection devices

Patients who use urine collection devices have largely been given products that were designed for use in hospitals. HTD partnered with Clinisuplies to develop the next generation of collection devices that are designed around the user. An international jury commended Livfria® on it’s outstanding quality and design which gives further validation to our belief that it is a life-changing innovation for continence patients.

Every year, Red Dot launch their international design competition, searching for the best in product design. Following the launch of Livfria® in January, Clinisupplies & Health Tech Design are delighted to announce that the product has won a prestigious Red Dot Award for Innovation.

Health Tech Design partnered with Clinisuppies to develop Livfria® the next generation of urine collection devices. Setting a new benchmark in continence care with innovative features that promote discretion, security and comfort. The patented Livfria® system has at its core a unique click-close connector, offering a secure connection with minimal effort.

Prioritising comfort, Livfria® leg bags have a dual-chambered design and soft, free-flow anti-kink tubing, ensuring a natural fit and feel for the user. These features collectively make Livfria® a discreet, secure, and comfortable choice for the people that need them.

The team at HTD worked from an early stage with users to understand their key concerns around the current systems that were available to them. Ease of use, security of connection and discretion were the main issues that concerned users. The unique click-close connection gives the user the confidence of knowing that the connection is secure and will not come loose and leak.

They also removed the volume measurements and ‘medical markings’ normally present on these urine bags, users do not need to use these during day-to-day use. This, added to a choice of opaque or semi-opaque leg & night bags creates a truly discreet solution.

An international jury commended Livfria® on its outstanding quality and design which gives further validation to their belief that it is a life-changing innovation for continence patients.

Nick Buckle, Chief Marketing Officer for Clinisupplies, says “We are proud to receive the red dot innovation award for our Livfria® range. Our ambition was to design a product which allowed patients using urine collections bags to feel more discreet, more secure. Our new click-close connector combined with a unique design sets a new standard for collecting devices and a new standard for security and discretion for continence patients.”

Nick Harvey, Director of Health Tech Design commented “Our aim is to normalise the products that people with continence issues use. People are using these products every day and they do not want to feel like they are undergoing a medical procedure every time they use them. By developing products for users that are well designed, discreet and that work brilliantly, we really can transform the life of the user”
