Last 26th March our International Projects Director presented the most recent updates about the EIP on AHA I2M initiative during a webinar arranged by the Italian network ProMIS – Il Programma Mattone Internazionale and addressed to all Italian EIP on AHA Reference Sites.
In that occasion, ProMIS has also launched an Open Innovation Award linked to the I2M initiative, an open competition to all those engaged or willing to engage in the health sector by contributing to the creation of agile “Open Innovation” tools that accelerate the digital transformation of health processes and products in Italy.
ProMIS, established in 2015, is helping Italian regions and key stakeholders to collaborate. It is involved in the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing and helped Italian regions to apply to become Reference Sites. It also help share best practices and experiences through information days and themed workshops and provides support in accessing European funds while promoting international research in public health.
What is the I2M?
The Innovation to Market (I2M) is an initiative developed within the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Health Ageing (EIP on AHA) and led by ECHAlliance.
The aim is to support the transformation of health and care in the Digital Single Market, thereby reinforcing the links between the development of solutions by companies, start-ups, and researchers – the supply side, and bridge a gap with the expectations and needs of care providers, policy-makers, insurers and other potential buyers of these products and services – the demand side.
The ProMIS Open Innovation Award in a nutshell
Participants, gathered in groups of min 4 and max 8, are asked to create and propose a digital tool to be used within their local health system. The first 3 ranked will be invited to exhibit their work at the event that will be organized by ProMIS in the second half of the year with the involvement of the European Commission.
The winners’ prizes funded by ProMIS are:

The proposals will be examined by a commission designated by the Regions and Public Administrations that participated in the design of the competition, made up of experts from the innovation sector, the scientific and health world, communication and information.
Moreover, an online vote will be launched on the 2nd July from 9:00 am CET to 16th July at 9:00 pm CET. Only one vote per registered user will be allowed and it will contribute as 20% to the definition of the final ranking.
