BAM S.R.L. was founded in 2020, and in 2021 it was included in the register of innovative start-ups for the project called Taaak.

Taaak is an innovative, versatile and modular IOT system that allows the acquisition, analysis and control of data in an automatic, continuous and integrated way, even remotely, making them usable through a dashboard that can be consulted from any cell phone or PC. The system integrates various technologies, it can interact with pre-existing systems and/or integrate new sensors designed ad hoc for remote monitoring, alarming and actuations, and it requires no cables or wiring.

The health care sector, and particularly the area involving elderly care, is one of the many examples of possible application of the Taaak technology, as it facilitates continuous monitoring through advanced sensing, including remote monitoring, of environments, machines and people.

Some examples of applications are room control (room access, windows control, temperature and air quality monitoring, lighting control), patients control (emergency calls with possibility of integration with AI for voice calls), GPS and localization (indoor/outdoor use), crib control (crib presence, reading of raised or lowered sides, patient weighing, possibility of integration with actuators).

As Massimo Monti, in charge of R&D, explains, “Thanks to the discussion with insiders and the lived and personal experiences, in which the care of the bedridden person is difficult for the caregiver, and traumatic for the patient, the need was detected to create a service that would solve these problems.”

Specifically, Massimo and his team developed a system marketed under the name “ORANGE BOX” that is installed on aids, particularly stair lifts and electric scooters for people with walking difficulties. The system allows the customer to monitor the status of the aid, and particularly the battery, ensuring assistance and functionality. The user always knows the charge level and geolocation of the vehicle (with the possibility of delineating areas within which to circumscribe movement, subject to alarm dispatch) and has an integrated rescue request system.

BAM S.R.L.’s Orange Box increases the peace of mind of the patient’s family members while optimizing maintenance time and costs.
