Meet our newest member PORTIC

Member News

Porto Research, Technology & Innovation Center seeks to bring together several research centres and groups from P.PORTO in a single physical space, forming a superstructure dedicated to research, technology transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Supported by a culture of applied research, transversal and with a significant impact on society, P.PORTO has 24 research centres and groups in a wide range of knowledge areas, from Engineering, Business Sciences, Education, Sport, Arts, Health, Tourism, Media and Design.

Research and development, technology and knowledge transfer, innovation and creativity, entrepreneurship, incubation, spin-offs, start-ups – these are all part of Research, Technology & Innovation, a holistic chain of interrelated activities.

PORTIC includes units and groups with activities in different stages of the knowledge and innovation chain, in several areas of knowledge. Currently, our focus is on:

  • Cybersecurity – Reliable and secure digital systems, security of the Internet-of-things, security by design
  • Health Technologies – Data interoperability, Health and well-being, support to independent and active life, Innovative technologies, tools and digital solutions for telehealth and digital health

We are proud to become a member of the ECHAlliance and we hope that we can collaborate with other members and within ecosystems on future events and projects.
