Future Proofing Health- and Care Systems Safeguarding Health Care Workers in Hospital Settings

Projects

Healthcare professionals, particularly those in surgical specialties, face significant stress and pressure, often leading to burnout, reduced resilience, and decreased job satisfaction and retention. Recent global health crises have further strained healthcare systems, intensifying these challenges and exacerbating workforce shortages across the EU.

KEEPCARING project is dedicated to tackling these pressing issues by identifying the key drivers of workplace stress and collaborating to create innovative, ground-up, evidence-based solutions. The project aims to develop a comprehensive range of tools and strategies to prevent burnout and enhance well-being at individual, team, and organisational levels.

As part of this initiative, KEEPCARING invites hospital-based doctors, nurses, and medical and nursing students to participate in a short survey designed to explore perceptions of work stress, resilience, leadership styles and organisational and individual risk and protective factors. With a target of 650 responses from healthcare professionals across EU hospitals, this survey will provide critical insights to shape practical and effective solutions.
