During our event at HLTH Las Vegas 2024, we are very excited to welcome yet another ecosystem from the United States: GlobalSTL Healthcare Innovation Ecosystem based in St. Louis, Missouri. To learn more about what their work, read this interview with Noah Wolthausen, Manager, Advisory Practice/Business Development at BIOSTL.
Who are the key stakeholders?
On the healthcare and biopharma side of our ecosystem in St. Louis, stakeholders include one of the largest concentrations of healthcare organizations in the U.S. St. Louis is a healthcare powerhouse when you compare the revenue generated here compared to other cities. The ecosystem also includes world class research institutions such as Washington University. And we’re not confined to St. Louis and have expanded into 5 Midwestern states.
BioSTL has formed deep relationships with our 20 platform partners and our community of health innovation leaders.
What are the main objectives of your ecosystems?
The St. Louis region’s bioscience ecosystem is now a purpose-driven economy that solves societal challenges across agriculture and human health.
Why did you join the ECHAlliance Network of Ecosystems?
We wanted to join the ECHAlliance Network of Ecosystems mainly to gain access to the incredible ECHAlliance network of global companies driving healthcare innovation and provide support to those entering the US market.
Who is missing from your ecosystem in terms of stakeholders?
We are looking to add healthcare IT and medical device companies to our already substantial ecosystem of digital health. We aim to identify innovation hubs around the globe that have their pulse on their own local ecosystem.
Which ecosystems are you looking to collaborate with?
We would like to collaborate with all interested ecosystems especially those in Asia, Africa and LATAM where we do not have a strong footprint.
