In a world where healthcare innovation is constantly evolving, we see more and more entrepreneurs who want to make a lasting difference for patients and their carers. They have great ideas and solutions that have the potential to improve quality of life and treatment pathways – but for many, there is a wall of challenges ahead. Often, these challenges are not about the technology itself, but about something fundamental: collaboration and patient involvement.

For years, we patient advocates have fought for patient voices to be an active part of the innovation process. We’ve been vocal about the importance of involving patients from the start – both to create solutions that truly meet their needs and to build the trust that can ensure the successful implementation and adoption of new technologies and treatment options. But many entrepreneurs today find that this patient engagement is still a barrier they must overcome to get their ideas to the people they want to help.

PiCC United steps in

At PiCC United, we see it as our mission to support these visionary entrepreneurs who truly want to make a difference for patients around the world. We want to bridge the gap between innovation and patient engagement so that no one is alone in the fight to make healthcare better and more patient-oriented. Through our platform and our strong network of patient advocates, healthcare professionals and other key stakeholders, we actively work to provide entrepreneurs with the resources they need – from insights into patients’ real needs to concrete collaboration opportunities that can accelerate their innovations.

When entrepreneurs work closely with patients and carers, a synergy is created that makes solutions more effective and sustainable. Patient engagement can lead to a deeper understanding of everyday challenges not otherwise captured in clinical or technological development environments. It’s about more than just introducing a new technology – it’s about creating meaningful solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives.
