Innovation key to Social Care services delivery
Ecosystems

Northern Ireland Connected Health Ecosystem Gathering was held on April 27.

Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) hosted the conference on behalf of the Northern Ireland Connected Health Ecosystem, a member of the ECHAlliance International Connected Health Ecosystem Network.

Entitled ‘Social Care & Connected Health Matters’, it brought together a range of speakers from across the sector with one common aim, how technology and innovation can and does improve the delivery of social care services.

The participants agreed the greatest difference in the quality of care can be achieved through joined up thinking and adopting best practices. Innovation can come from any stakeholder in the healthcare and social care ecosystems and within the NI Connected Health Ecosystem the rate of innovation is already high but is expected to accelerate still, as was observed and commented by the speakers.

Organisations addressing the conference included: Department of Health, Age NI, Innovate UK, InvestNI, BSO, European Connected Health Alliance, Yarra Software, North West Regional College, Kinsetsu and Homecare Independent Living.

Damian O’Connor (Director Ecosystems Development, European Connected Health Alliance), Mairead Mackle (Chief Executive, Homecare Independent Living), Marian O’Rourke (Head of Workforce Development, NISCC), Joanne O’Doherty (Business Development Director, Kinsetsu), Declan McAllister (Director of Registration and Corporate Services, NISCC)
