Great success for the 1st ever Global Digital Health Summit, Expo & Innovation Awards held on 28th and 29th October in New Delhi in the heart of the Indian capital within the Government’s own convention centre, “Vigyan Bhawan”. The ECHAlliance, co-host of the event with the Health Parliament, our great partner within the Global Health Connector Partnership (GHCP), is proud of the launch of its first operation in India. This event gathered more than 1500 attendees from 35 countries.
India is obviously one of the most dynamic and powerful economy in the world with (next month of November) the largest population of the world. The Indian Government, represented during the event by the Hon’ble Union Minister of State of the Prime Minister’s office, Dr. Jitendra Singh, has launched a large initiative across the country called the “Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission”. This strategy aims to position India as a global leader on Digital Health. And a few months after its launch, the numbers are impressive with more than 250 million individual health accounts created and 170,000 healthcare providers registered on the national platform.
This Summit has been the opportunity for the ECHAlliance delegation, led by Brian O’Connor, Chair, and involving Prof. Angela Brand, Prof. Helmut Brand, Jon Warner and Julien Venne, to connect through hundreds of discussions & meetings with policymakers, companies, start-ups, universities, healthcare providers and investors from all across India as well as with international partners such as McKinsey, Google Health, Welldoc, Wolters Kluwer, Siemens Healthineers, etc. A Global Health Connector Partnership session has been held within the Summit agenda around the key themes of Green Health, Communication & Digital Health and Digital skills.
Conscious of the expansion of India in our digital health domain, the ECHAlliance has decided to reinforce its activities in the country, in partnership with Prof. Rajendra Gupta and his Health Parliament team, developing new multi-stakeholder ecosystems around the main cities of the country and engaging research and innovative projects. This will be facilitated with an ECHAlliance representation office in India with our Board Director, Julien Venne, and our Event Strategic Advisor, Beatriz Sanz.
So, stay tune and join us in India!
