ORCHA has been assessing health apps for the NHS since 2015. Today, we launch a free COVID-19 health and care app formulary, so that consumers, and health and care professionals, can find quality apps to help self-management of health and wellbeing, remote monitoring, and online service delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the mobile and web-based apps also help to keep pressure off the NHS at this time.

As a free-to-use resource, the ORCHA COVID-19 app formulary site includes reviews of health and care apps across a range of conditions areas relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic, including reviews of a number of specialised COVID-19 apps or modules launched to date. The condition areas of focus include apps to help self-manage:

  • Anxiety and mental wellbeing
  • Asthma
  • COPD
  • Diabetes
  • Maternity
  • Muscular and pain-management solutions

Further, ORCHA is offering its Pro Accounts free to all for the next three months. This will allow health and care professionals to recommend apps directly to patients via text or email, for free. This service will be available for free from 6th April to 6th July 2020, at which time ORCHA will reassess the situation.

Visit the site and discover apps to help you or your patients or service users, at:

To get your free three month ORCHA Pro Account: visit the site, click the ‘Sign Up’ button in the top right-hand corner, and use the upgrade code BEATCOVID19

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this with us, please get in touch at hello@orcha.co.uk

If you already have an ORCHA Pro Account linked to your organisation’s Health & Care App Library, you will also be able to see the apps featured in the COVID-19 formulary. The relevant apps will feature a blue ‘COVID-19’ banner in your Library.
