The problem of antibiotic resistance has undoubtedly become one of the main threats to public health, causing a great clinical, epidemiological and microbiological impact worldwide. This reason could lead to 10 million deaths worldwide by 2050 if the current trend continues at its current pace.
EUJAMRAI, the European Joint Action on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections, emerges with the ambitious goal of changing the world’s approach to antimicrobial resistance through a One Health perspective, building on the success of its inaugural edition (2017-2021).
From January 1st, 2024 and over 48 months, more than 120 partners spanning 30 countries, supported by approximately 40 stakeholders, are actively engaged in this joint action. European institutions such as ECDC and EFSA, alongside global bodies including WHO, OIE, OECD, UNEP, and FAO, contribute their expertise to enrich discussions and ensure alignment with existing initiatives.
The mission at EU-JAMRAI 2 is to lead the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through joint and coordinated action across Europe.
