STOP THE BLEED® Kenya Initiative aims to equip Kenyans with lifesaving bleeding control skills, empowering bystanders to act effectively in emergencies such as road crashes, workplace injuries, and community incidents.
By training 2,025 Kenyans in bleeding control, we aim to:
- Increase bystander intervention rates
- Reduce preventable preventable deaths from severe bleeding
- Empower communities to act during emergencies
across workplaces & communities.
A person can bleed to death in as fast as: 3 to 5 minutes.
Why This Matters? Uncontrolled bleeding is one of the leading causes of preventable deaths in injury cases. In Kenya, road accidents, workplace hazards, and violent injuries contribute significantly to emergency fatalities.
Our training model:
- Introduction (5 mins): Overview of bleeding control and its importance
- Hands-on Demonstration (20 mins): Step-by-step training on essential techniques
- Guided Participant Practice (25 mins): Hands-on skill-building using provided supplies
- Q&A and Feedback (10 mins): Open discussion and reinforcement of key skills
