Galway University Hospital shortlisted for Irish Health Award for its use of EfficienC Patient Communication Software

Galway University Hospitals have been shortlisted in the ‘Best use of Information Technology – Hospital’ category in the Irish Healthcare Awards for their effective use of the EfficienC Patient Communication Software.

Ireland’s leading medical Awards are hosted by Irish Medical Times and its publisher MPI Media, and celebrate and recognise innovation, excellence and achievement in the Irish healthcare sector.

The ‘Best use of Information Technology – Hospital’ category recognises the innovative use of information technology in a healthcare context to improve efficiencies and deliver better patient care.

Galway University Hospitals have significantly reduced missed outpatient appointments through the deployment of the EfficienC patient communication software, thereby improving patient experience, hospital efficiency, reducing waiting lists and reducing costs. Following the installation of EfficienC at Galway University Hospitals, the number of missed outpatient appointments at GUH has reduced by a significant 36% on average with the highest clinic reduction exceeding 75%.

The final winners will be announced at an award ceremony on 17 October 2018 at the Clayton Hotel in Dublin.
