  • Hulda Steingrímsdóttir (ISL), Environmental Manager, The National University Hospital of Iceland, who talked about sustainability

The panel was moderated by Daniel Jacobsson (SE), CEO of Purch AB and organised by Mafalda Svensson also from Purch AB.

Andy Bleaden said afterwards: “I am delighted to start the Nordic chapter of the Health Procurement Thematic Innovation Ecosystem (TIE) and to work with colleagues from Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Denmark to better connect them with our 6 ecosystems there.

However – even more exciting is then how we at ECHAlliance can use our connector ability to then connect in our other Nordic Ecosystems within Finland and then look to other regions such as Spain/Portugal and the UK/Republic of Ireland as well as across central Europe to match need and solution.

We look forward to working with Purch AB in this and then connecting these Procurer networks to Provider networks developed by other ECHAlliance members such as McKinsey.”

Our Thematic Innovation Ecosystems (TIE) provide:

  • An established delivery network to share and exchange ideas and collaborate
  • A platform to gain resources, best practices, and knowledge
  • Webinars/face-to-face
  • Communities for networking

The Thematic Innovation Ecosystem on Health Procurement is coordinated by ECHAlliance and Health Procurement Europe and explores the topics of Sustainability, German, Nordic and European supply chain laws, EU preparatory laws and the roles of SMEs in Health Procurement. Its coordinator is Elisa Frenz, CEO & Co-Founder at Health Proc Europe Association.

Elisa Frenz commented: “We have seen a great interest in our country sessions focusing on regional networks to bring these topics in a next step to the European level by giving healthcare procurement a bigger stage and louder voices. This said, I am happy to see that we were able to kick-off the Nordic chapter thanks to the fantastic collaboration with the PURCH team, and connect more like minded procurement enthusiasts to rethink healthcare procurement while joining forces.
