Athens Digital Health Week 2024 – ADHW is co-organised by IDIKA S.A. – the Hellenic eGovernment Center for Social Security Services and the National eHealth Authority (NeHA) of Cyprus and is hosted in Athens by HL7 Hellas. A wide range of events covering many topics of digital health in Europe and beyond are also hosted during ADHW, rendering it into a high-profile networking event of digital health innovators in Europe.
ECHAlliance – The Global Health Connector will be part of ADHW with the following projects:
XpanDH is a two-year Horizon Europe project that aims to empower people and organizations to create, adapt, and explore the use of digital health solutions. It is done by promoting the adoption of the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF), which makes it possible for different digital health tools to communicate with each other. The aim of XpanDH is to demonstrate the feasibility of real-world experimentations with a set of EEHRxF early adopters’ that allow the refinance of the guidance material and create reference cases to stimulate ecosystem maturation (X-Bubbles).
XpanDH will host numerous workshops in Athens and will participate in the joint launch event of xShare on 17 January 2024. The goal of Gravitate-Health is to empower and equip Europeans with health information for active personal health management and adherence to treatment. Now in its third year, the project has already established a federated open-source platform (FOSP) that is currently in pilots and further development. Now, during the ADHW, the Gravitate-Health organises its first Hackathon on 17-19 January 2024. The Hackathon provides a great opportunity to showcase the platform and invite participants to test its usability or build on it and contribute to its improvement. Constructive feedback will be valuable to the FOSP’s further development to serve its goals and new ideas may speed up its development.

xShare is a Horizon Europe project that has kicked-off on 1 December 2023 and it’s the next stepping stone on the road to interoperability of health data in Europe. xShare proposes that with the click of the ‘yellow button’, featured across health portals and digital health apps, we will exercise our data portability rights under GDPR and download our health data in a computable format, the European EHRxF. Thus, the vision of the EHDS will be realized and with the ease that we share images on our mobile, we will share our health data across primary care, population health and clinical research for safe, trusted and informed care.
In the xShare project, ECHAlliance leads Communication, Dissemination, Exploitation and Stakeholder Engagement.
xShare will host a joint launch event, together with XpanDH and Xt-HER projects on Wednesday 17 January 2024, at 17:30 EET.
The xShare project kick off meeting will follow on 18 and 19 January 2024. In addition, an xShare label workshop will be organised on Thursday 18 January 15:30-19:30, focusing on refining the xShare label, which identifies systems compatible with the European Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF).
