Connected Health’s youngest director Rebecca Vogel is a double finalist in the 2023 NI Women in Tech awards in recognition of her drive to revolutionise home care.

The 29 year-old Director of Technology and Special Projects from Limavady is blazing a trail in bringing innovation to the homecare sector. She leads Connected Health’s Technology Enabled Care division, which covers everything from medication dispensing robots, to virtual care calling and activity monitoring wearables. The Co Derry woman also leads the company’s IT/Telecoms team, which provides tech support to almost 2,000 staff across Connected Health’s all-Ireland operations.

Rebecca is continuously moving the needle in terms of looking at the key pain points in the sector and exploring technological solutions, through Connected Health’s in-house Living Lab which rigorously assesses emerging tech’s suitability for the sector. Under her leadership, the Living Lab has brought several key innovations to home care in recent years, including the Pacsana smartwatch movement monitor; Yourmeds, a smart medication management system; and Feebris, home health assessment kit.

Rebecca has also played a leading role in creating Europe’s first Care Configurator as part of Connected Health 2.0, a premium private care service. Launched in May 2022, this innovative solution allows clients and their families to create bespoke care packages from an online menu of physical, virtual and digital care to facilitate clients remaining healthy, happy and safe in their homes.

In recognition of her efforts, Women in Business has selected Rebecca as finalist in the ‘Digital Transformation Leader of the Year’ while her team has been shortlisted in the ‘Tech Team of the Year’ as part of the NI Women in Tech Awards 2023.

Connected Health CEO, Douglas Adams, said: “Rebecca is truly at the forefront of innovation, testing cutting-edge solutions for the fast-paced social care scene and is very deserving of this recognition. She brings her passion for technology to life by advocating for technology and digital solutions that can support those receiving care at home in ways they’d never thought possible.

“Her work is also relieving capacity in a pressurised and overwhelmed healthcare sector with an ageing population, where people are both able to and want to remain living independently at home, rather than in a hospital setting.”

He added: “Rebecca is incredibly inspiring to all who work at Connected Health, being a highly innovative woman in tech and the youngest director in the company. Rebecca promotes a supportive culture within the business through career development, including mentorship.
