BRAINTEASER Legacy: Data, tools and knowledge for advancing future research in digital health for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

BRAINTEASER Final event – Tuesday 3rd June 2025 – @ENCALS 2025 Meeting

Projects

As the BRAINTEASER project nears its conclusion, its final conference will be held on 3 June 2025 in Turin, Italy, as an official satellite event of the ENCALS 2025 Meeting  — the premier annual gathering of the European Network to Cure ALS.

Chaired by Natalia Allegretti (ECHAlliance – The Global Health Connector), the event will spotlight key voices from the project and the broader digital health community. Dr. Deirdre Murray (University of Dublin) will open the session with insights into emerging digital health technologies for ALSProf. Maria Fernanda Cabrera (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), BRAINTEASER’s coordinator, will provide an overview of the project’s vision and achievements.

From the data to the tools, Prof. Barbara Di Camillo (University of Padova) will explore both the retrospective and prospective datasets and the AI models developed to support patient stratification, prognosis prediction, and disease simulation. Dr. Umberto Manera (University of Turin) will demonstrate the project’s digital applications — including the Patient App and Healthcare Professional App. Closing the presentations, Vincenzo Carbone (InSilicoTrials Technologies) will highlight the project’s sustainability pathways and future uptake opportunities.

The BRAINTEASER event takes place in the afternoon of 3 June, concluding a day rich in pioneering discussions. It follows high-level sessions from Precision ALS — a pan-European initiative using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate clinical research — and MND-SWIFTT, which focuses on digital technologies for motor neuron disease care.

By connecting with these leading initiatives, the BRAINTEASER final event ensures its results, tools, and legacy are shared with a high-level audience of scientists, clinicians, policymakers, patients, and industry stakeholders—paving the way for lasting impact well beyond the project’s official timeline.
