Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and led by EHMA – European Health Management Association, 24 partners from 11 countries join forces to establish the first blueprint alliance dedicated to creating a health workforce strategy on digital and green skills. The partnership brings together a substantial and diverse pool of leaders representing stakeholders in the health sector at various levels for which the training, upskilling, and reskilling of the health workforce are a strategic priority. As a global connector for digital health, ECHAlliance leads the Communication and Dissemination activities of the project.
Over the next four years (2022-2026) BeWell will address the skill needs and gaps in the health sector by cooperating with key actors representing education providers, organisations with sectoral expertise, and labour market actors. The strategy resulting from this project will help reduce skills shortages, gaps and mismatches, as well as ensuring appropriate quality and levels of skills.
While the strategy can be applied to the entire European health ecosystem, through the Pact for Skills, it will take into account the existing differences and disparities of healthcare and education systems within and across European countries in order to maximise transferability and facilitate the implementation of the strategy within national systems. The provision of training programmes for upskilling will also ultimately result in the modernisation and digitalisation of the national public system.
