ATRIDE Launches the Next-Gen “Holter for the Lungs” At Web Summit Vancouver 2025

Atride lung shirt is part of the larger EU funded Digilung project lead by Tehnopol, partners Atride, MoveUP, Cognuse, VUB. The project is highly relevant to HealthTech developments in COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) as it focuses on leveraging digital technologies to improve early detection, monitoring, and personalized care for COPD patients. By integrating AI-driven diagnostics, remote monitoring, and data analytics, DigiLung aims to: Enable early diagnosis of COPD through digital biomarkers and imaging tools, support continuous, real-time patient monitoring outside clinical settings, facilitate personalized treatment plans based on individual data patterns, reduce hospitalizations and improve patients’ quality of life, this aligns with broader HealthTech trends that emphasize preventive care, remote patient management, and AI-enhanced clinical decision-making in chronic respiratory diseases.

Ecosystems

ATRIDE debuts its next-generation smart breathing shirt, effectively a “Holter for the lungs.” This wearable delivers medical wellness grade respiratory and stress insights directly from the lungs via embedded nanotech sensors and advanced e-textile engineering, enabling continuous, non-invasive lung mapping, early anomaly detection, and telecare support.

When & Where:

May 27–30, 2025 at Web Summit Vancouver as a BETA startup. This marks ATRIDE’s second Web Summit appearance, following a successful debut in Lisbon.

Why It Matters:

As a CE-certified medical-wellness wearable for lung monitoring, the shirt bridges clinical accuracy with everyday comfort. Continuous data empowers patients and clinicians with actionable insights—vital for managing COPD, asthma, stress, and athletic performance—without ever stepping into a lab.

Who:

  • Maarten Gijssel, Chief Clinical Officer (EU)
  • Vangelis Lympouridis, PhD, Chief Technology Officer (USA)
  • Maria Kontogiorgou, CEO & Head of Digital Experience Design ( UK/EU)

Their combined expertise drives ATRIDE’s mission to democratize respiratory care globally.

Ongoing Research & Validation:

ATRIDE is launching multicenter studies in the UK, Netherlands, and Greece-leveraging Greece’s 227 inhabited islands as a real-world telecare ecosystem. A €1.1 million EISMEA-funded pilot has already deployed shirts to monitor 150+ COPD and asthma patients remotely, validating scalable, lab-grade telehealth solutions.
