Personalized Cancer Primary Prevention research through Citizen Participation and digitally-enabled social innovation

Projects

In the framework of World Cancer Day, on 4 February 2025, the 4P-CAN project was featured in an article published in Horizon, the EU Research and Innovation magazine, to raise awareness on cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treament on a global level.

4P-CAN Coordinator Marius Geantă was interviewed alongside Joana Drake, Head of the Cancer Mission at the European Commission and Anabela Isidro, Coordinator of the ECHoS project, which aims to establish National Cancer Mission Hubs.

The article highlights the 4P-CAN Leresti Living Lab initiative which took place in Lerești last August 2024, in the context the EU Cancer Mission Roadshow and Cancer Mission Hubs. The Living Lab goes directly to local communities to collect and analyse socio-demographic and health data from residents. As Marius Geantă pointed out, interacting with local citizens and understanding how local authorities can be activated shall enhance primary cancer prevention.
